TAC has undergone a long renovation, transforming the space into an ever-changing construction site. Marcel and Ursa had the opportunity to look behind the fence and capture TAC’s moments in flux through the lens of a camera.
In the last 5 years, TAC has undergone a long process of renovation, putting the building and its residents in a state of continuous flux. A construction site is usually seen as a place on its way to becoming something else, a world we seldom get close to or see throughout its transitions.
Marcel and Urša look behind the fence and reveal this world to us by their own account. Over time, Urša followed the transformation of TAC, returning to the site in the span of over a year and a half. Her images reveal shifting spaces and transforming landscape, while Marcel spent two days among the people working there. He looked for the individual within the movement and machinery of the building site.
Their photographs do not attempt to give a complete account of the renovation. Instead, they reveal the construction site as more than an unfinished building. As a place with a life and beauty of its own—shaped by time, labour and the people who pass through it.
