Human Material Loop introduces ādara®, a keratin protein fiber made from hair waste for the interior industry. In collaboration with designer Roger Haan and Wandschappen, the project explores what this new fiber can become.
A new keratin protein fiber
Human Material Loop has spent years developing technologies in the laboratory to transform human hair waste into a new generation of materials. What began at laboratory scale has been engineered for industrial production using existing textile machinery and infrastructure.
ādara® is the first product to emerge from this work, a regenerative keratin protein fiber that combines low environmental impact with strong functional and material performance. It reimagines one of the strongest natural fibers as a resource for the interior industry.
The technology creates the material, but its possibilities are shaped by those who use it. In the hands of designers, makers, builders and architects, ādara® can become surfaces, objects and spaces that show what a new fiber is capable of.
